{"id":4010,"date":"2018-03-09T13:38:24","date_gmt":"2018-03-09T18:38:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mombaby.org\/?p=4010"},"modified":"2018-03-20T13:50:41","modified_gmt":"2018-03-20T17:50:41","slug":"coiin-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mombaby.org\/2018\/coiin-update\/","title":{"rendered":"CMIH receives CoIIN funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CMIH has hit the ground running after receiving federal\u00a0funding\u00a0supported by and within HRSA MCHB\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mchb.hrsa.gov\/maternal-child-health-initiatives\/collaborative-improvement-innovation-networks-coiins\">Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network on Infant Mortality (IM CoIIN)<\/a>\u00a0initiative.<!--more-->\u00a0Women&#8217;s preconception health is vastly important for women of all backgrounds whether they plan or hope to conceive children or not.\u00a0There are four state-teams across the country working with CMIH to improve upon the well-woman&#8217;s visit by developing, implementing and disseminating a woman-centered, clinician-engaged, community-supported approach. Those four teams include: California, Delaware, North Carolina and Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p>This past December, all four teams and\u00a0CMIH, met for the first official weekend-long meeting in D.C to discuss not only <em>how<\/em> to make productive change but <em>what<\/em>\u00a0change\u00a0could be defined at\u00a0each of the\u00a0varying pilot sites\u00a0in each state. Teams were\u00a0met with presentations that discussed Human Centered Design, preconception screening tools, how to build community and state support, measurement and evaluation.
